THE LORE
The Race Designs does not exist on a linear path – it’s a study of who we are, the human experience, and our own relationships with chaos. A fuel that ignites my own obsession with people, places, and things in motion.
Adopted at birth and raised in Los Angeles by a product developer and a British designer, my biological story begins with an artist and a special forces operator. A deep-seeded chaos that has lived in my body since day one, at some point I stopped running from it and only then did I begin to understand it. The most interesting things are born from tension, friction, and willingness to work with the mess instead of against.
A realization that chaos is indeed just the highest form of order. Something I’ve always been wired to notice, feel, and chase – that feeling became obsession – manifested through a decade of design and creative projects across fashion, action sports, and motorsports. I kept ending up in rooms driven by the feeling of objects in motion. I realized what actually excites me isn’t the final object, but the people, places, and things that lead us there. The differential between what holds under pressure versus what transforms when you push it.
That obsession would become GHOST-SPEC and Race Designs as the container for all of it – a creative lab for human experience. A room where design, motion, and material science collide, and where I get to keep asking the same question I’ve been asking my whole life:
What happens when you stop trying to control the chaos and build with it instead?
The answer, at least partially, lies in the Race Designs logo – an homage to one of the greatest inspirations of my life, Alexander McQueen. A connoisseur of his own chaos, one of McQueen’s last shows of his lifetime was FW09, The Horn of Plenty. A collection aimed at forcing introspection as it relates to the material duality of waste versus couture. A number of looks in this collection are rooted in houndstooth patterning, a spark of inspiration from a late legend that would eventually become the symbol to my own life’s work.
